Anyone actually compared Fiamm against the bigger brand names here
I know this might be a boring topic for most of you but I have been genuinely stuck on this decision for a few days now and figured a forum full of people who deal with cars more seriously than me would have better input than random shop recommendations. Basically my current battery is on its last legs, garage confirmed it during a routine service, and now I am staring down the choice of just going with whatever the shop pushes on me versus actually doing a bit of research first since I got burned once before with a cheap replacement that barely lasted a year and a half. I have mostly heard of the usual big names everyone talks about but a friend who works in logistics and deals with a lot of vehicle maintenance for his company fleet mentioned that Genuine Fiamm car battery in Abu Dhabi options tend to be underrated compared to how much people usually talk about the more mainstream brands, and that surprised me a little since I honestly never even considered it as an option before he brought it up. Out of curiosity I looked into it a bit more and found a page from that had some details on Fiamm batteries specifically, mentioned build quality and typical lifespan expectations for the local climate which is obviously a big factor here given how brutal the heat gets for half the year and how fast that alone can wear down a weaker battery regardless of brand reputation. What I am trying to figure out now is whether the pricing actually reflects better value or if I am just paying a similar amount for something that performs roughly the same as what I already had, because at the end of the day I do not really care about brand names, I just want something that will not leave me stranded again like my last one did with almost zero warning. Has anyone here actually run one of these long term, like two or three years in, and can speak to how it held up especially through the summer months, because that is really the true test in my opinion rather than how it performs in the first few weeks after installation when everything feels fine anyway. Also open to hearing if there is a noticeably better alternative I am overlooking, I am not attached to any particular brand, I just want to make an informed choice this time instead of rushing into whatever the nearest shop happens to have in stock that day. Appreciate any real experiences people can share here.
