Diablo IV Season 11: Divine Gifts and Sanctification Explained
In this article, we'll introduce the key update for the new season, Divine Gifts, and reveal the release date of Diablo IV Season 11.
Release Date And Divine Gifts Introduction
Season 11 is scheduled to launch on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025 at 10:00 AM. The new season mechanics will also be revealed soon. Some players may have already experienced them during the October open beta. In short, Diablo IV Season 11 allows players to modify and enhance their abilities through season-specific temporary powers—this is Divine Gifts!
As a new season mechanic, Divine Gifts operates similarly to previous versions, using a slot system similar to previous seasons. However, it doesn't aim to directly increase character strength, but rather enhances rewards for specific events. While different players may have different opinions, Divine Gifts will increase the rewards from open-world content, and players can control and obtain more of the rewards they need through their choices. Compared to simply and directly boosting character strength, this is undoubtedly a bold attempt, bringing players a fresh gaming experience.
Corrupted And Purified
Divine Gifts will come in two forms: Corrupted and Purified. Corrupted Gifts will increase the difficulty of monsters, giving them more mechanics and significantly increasing the game's challenge, but will still provide a Divine Gift reward bonus. If you felt the previous versions weren't difficult enough, this gift might offer a minor challenge. The second type, Purified Gifts, will remove the negative effects of Corrupted Gifts and provide additional game buffs, doubling the related rewards. This is undoubtedly a very attractive buff, allowing players to more easily and quickly obtain game rewards to enhance their character's strength.
Please note that each Divine Gift contains three parts: the corresponding reward, the Corrupted Gift form, and the Purified Gift form. After defeating a lower-level evil and obtaining the corresponding Divine Grace for its Corrupted Essence, the Corrupted Grace slot will be automatically unlocked; the Purification Grace slot requires increasing your Divine Grace Season reputation level.
New Item Mechanics: Tempering, Masterworking & Sanctification
Tempering: Finally, you can pick the exact affixes you want—and revert changes anytime. No more wasting materials on unwanted rolls. It’s a game-changer for building personalized, min-maxed gear.
Masterworking: This allows you to directly enhance an item’s quality. Once you hit max quality, you unlock a Capstone Bonus, upgrading regular affixes to powerful Greater Affixes. It’s a clear, satisfying path to strengthening your gear—no guesswork, just steady progress.
Sanctification is the final stage of Masterworking and the last step in that stage. As the pinnacle of the item crafting process, Sanctification imbues the item with a small amount of Celestial Power, randomly drawn from a range of possible upgrade options. After sanctification, the item cannot be modified in any way, so any tempering or reforging must be completed before this step. Sanctification is the final step in perfecting your gear, meaning you'll need to prepare a significant amount of resources or buy Diablo 4 items beforehand. Completed sanctification will have five possible effects:
1. Add a new Legendary Aspect (creating dual-Aspect gear)
2. Convert one affix to an Ancestral-tier roll
3. Add a brand-new sanctified affix
4. Randomly turn one existing affix into a sanctified one
5. Make the gear so that it never loses durability
These systems show respect for players' time. Hope you can enhance your gear to create your favorite and strongest weapon!
