How to Unlock Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R in Forza Horizon 6
Forza Horizon 6 has finally taken us to the breathtaking landscapes of Japan, and with it comes a massive celebration of JDM history. Among the most anticipated vehicles hidden away in the countryside is the absolute legend itself: the 1971 Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R. Fondly known as the "Hakosuka," this classic is a must-have for any collector, cruiser, or tuner in the Horizon community. However, you cannot just stumble upon this beauty or buy it from the Autoshow right from the get-go. It is locked behind the game's classic Barn Find mechanic in the Nangan region. If you are tearing up the asphalt looking for that classic purple rumor circle, here is a complete, straightforward walkthrough on exactly how to unlock and restore this icon. Step 1: Reach "Traveller" Status If you drive straight to the barn location at the start of the game, you will find nothing but a locked, unresponsive door. Barn Finds do not automatically appear on your map just by discovering them. Instead, you need to actively level up your campaign progression to trigger the rumor.
Monitor Your Progress: Open up your campaign menu and check the Collector's Journal to see your current standing in the "Discover Japan" stamp progression.
Earn Progression Points: Focus on accumulating points by tackling the main yellow-marked story missions, completing standard road races, smashing regional mascots, or purchasing player houses across the map.
Trigger the Rumor: Your goal is to hit Level 3, which grants you the "Traveller" status and unlocks the Blue Stamp. The moment you clear this milestone, the radio will pipe in with a rumor, and a purple Skyline search zone will pop up on your map.
Step 2: Navigate to the Barn Location With the search zone active, make your way over to the south-western edge of the map, deep into the scenic Nangan region. The hills here can be tricky to navigate, but tracking down the barn itself is actually pretty simple if you know what to look for.
Start by locating the main paved road that cuts cleanly through the southern section of the purple search circle.
Keep an eye out for a small cluster of houses sitting right alongside this main road. Directly behind these buildings, you will spot a distinct dirt track branching off toward the west.
Turn onto this dirt path and follow it all the way down as it winds to the bottom of the hill.
As you descend, you will notice a path branching off to the right. Ignore it completely and keep heading straight down the main dirt path. The barn is located directly at the very end of the trail.
Step 3: Wait for Restoration Once you approach the doors, a cinematic cutscene will trigger, showcasing your discovery before shipping the dusty shell off to your garage. From here, the vehicle goes into restoration mode.
The Waiting Game: The car takes roughly two to six hours of real-life gameplay time to fully restore.
Save Your Credits: While the game gives you the option to spend hard-earned in-game credits to bypass the wait and complete it instantly, it really isn't worth it. Just go back to checking off road races, seasonal events, or PR stunts, and let the restoration finish automatically for free while you play.
Once the restoration is complete, you will get a notification letting you know the Hakosuka is prepped and ready for the festival. Head back to your garage, claim your prize, and start building your dream vintage build. Whether you keep it stock, build a pristine touge machine, or slam it for the local car meets, the 2000GT-R is easily one of the most rewarding drives in all of Forza Horizon 6. Happy hunting out there on the roads of Nangan!
