MLB The Show 26 Crossplay Off: Play Only with Your Console Friends
In MLB The Show 26, crossplay is on by default, letting PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch players compete together online. But if you prefer to play only with friends on the same console—or want to avoid potential connection or gameplay differences—you can turn crossplay off.
How to Disable Crossplay
You can manage crossplay either through the game itself or via your console’s system settings if the in-game option is unavailable.
In-Game (Universal for All Platforms)
  1. Go to the Main Menu (don’t enter a mode like Diamond Dynasty yet).
  2. Click your Universal Profile icon in the top-left corner.
  3. Scroll to the Settings or My Player tab.
  4. Find the Crossplay toggle and switch it Off.
Xbox System Settings
If the in-game option is greyed out on Xbox, disable crossplay at the system level:
  1. Press the Xbox button and go to Settings > General > Online safety & family.
  2. Select Privacy & online safety > Xbox privacy > View details & customize.
  3. Navigate to Communication & multiplayer.
  4. Set "You can join cross-network play" to Block.
PlayStation & Nintendo Switch
On PlayStation and Switch, the crossplay toggle is usually available directly in your Universal Profile settings on the main menu. Just switch it off to stay on platform-only matchmaking.
Playing With Console Friends
Once crossplay is off, matchmaking will only include players on the same console who also have crossplay disabled. To play with friends:
  • Use your console’s friend invite system (PSN, Xbox Live, or Nintendo Online) to form a party.
  • Make sure your friends also disable crossplay if you want to remain in a console-specific pool, especially in modes like Ranked Co-op.
Turning off crossplay is a simple way to keep your games stable, predictable, and friendly for your console crew. Whether it’s online co-op or ranked matches, staying on the same platform ensures you’re only facing your console-native rivals.
