I need some help figuring out how to handle this. United Recovery Solutions has been calling nonstop about an old debt. The thing is, I'm not even 100% sure the debt is mine, or if it is, the amount seems way off. I asked them to send me a validation letter, but they keep calling and leaving automated messages.
It's gotten to the point where I'm screening all my calls. I know they have rules they have to follow, but this feels like straight-up harassment. I've heard that sending a specific type of letter can force them to stop contacting me, but I'm worried about making things worse. Does a cease-and-desist letter actually work with these guys? I just want the calls to stop while I figure out if I even owe this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
